Have You Ever Tried Freewriting?

Today’s exercise in discovery:

Without the past there would be nothing to think about.

Centuries ago, entire societies believed gods and goddesses left the earth to reign supreme in the night sky as constellations. It was theorized that air and sea could not be traversed without angering deities. Back when the sun circled this planet and a bird of prey may well have been the favored disguise of the creator of all things, trees walked and volcanoes fed on virgins dressed in white.

We keep the noble names of star clusters; we keep the legends and old superstitions, perhaps to map how far we have come, how intelligent we have become.
