4:15 — Know When To Say: Good Enough

She finally gets to the end of
a self-help article, lets her finger
follow the black-faced type all the way
to final punctuation and frowns. This can’t
be right. It’s far too simplistic, lacks sacrifice
and suffering. Blood, sweat, and tears. What will she
do with all the time not spent on worrying and redoing?

Today’s poem is inspired by Word Light Show,the suggestion of writing about a “new venture”. The best advice I ever received from a college professor dumbfounded me—today I revisit that advice, drink it in, put it to work for me. My new venture will be the act of saving up all that blood sweat and tears for old age. Might need it by then.
